This Saturday, on their day off from their tour with Sevendust, Memphis May Fire came to the House of Independents for a one off. Bringing along their tour support, Fire From The Gods & great local support Chasing Utopia, Polarity & Across the White Water Tower .You could see the excitement and energy rise in the crowd as each band took the stage. Being in bands that have been in their position, it could be tough to get a crowd who is there for the national act into it but none of these bands had that trouble! More and more movement came from the crowd as the local support bands got the crowd hyped for the national acts.
Fire From the Gods took the stage, and this was my first time really checking this band out. For me discovering a band live is possibly the ultimate experience because you get to see the band in their rawest form. This band was EXCELLENT. Having a hard rock edge with vocal melodies that reminded me of a mix of Cypress Hill meets Bring Me The Horizon, I was instantly intrigued. As the set went along the more and more power this band packed. I highly recommend checking them out if you have not already.
Last but not least, the moment everyone was waiting for all night, Memphis May Fire took the stage. Their set was awesome, and you could tell this band did not want a night off from rocking. From the moment they took the stage, even when battling some technical difficulties, it was nonstop energy. Each note, beat and strum was hit with purpose and power and the crowd returned that energy. They played a great mix of old songs and new keeping each Memphis May Fire fan happy.
Overall, it was a fantastic night of music from all the bands. If the tour with Svendust is coming your way, be sure to do yourself the favor and pick up a ticket. You will not be disappointed with the night of music you got yourself into.
