Spencer Sutherland brought his Freaking Out Tour to Toronto’s Rivoli this past week. Despite it being the smallest crowd on the tour, fans showed up early to catch the soulful singer and his opener, Justice Carradine. It would have been easy to mistake the crowd for a full house, however, as fans sang back every word at the top of their lungs. The setlist also did not disappoint with a mix of yet to be released material, Ariana Grande and 5 Seconds of Summer covers, and fan favourites such as “Sweater.” Sutherland even treated the crowd to a solo rendition of his brand new collaboration with Hoodie Allen, “Giving Up On Us,” which was released just days earlier. Sutherland’s vocal abilities and presence on stage are truly impressive, and make him an artist to definitely check out.
